Bachmann 52803 HO Santa Fe 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive & Tender #1385 EX/Box

This is a Bachmann 52803 HO Scale Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe USRA 4-6-2 Light Pacific Steam Locomotive & Tender #1385 with Sound. The advent of heavier, longer passenger trains in the early 20th century called for a new type of steam locomotive. The 4-6-2 (or Pacific class as it came to be known) answered that call in 1901. It went on to become the predominant express passenger engine for over 40 years. Bachmann’s new DCC sound-equipped 4-6-2 includes our Sound Value SoundTraxx® steam package with authentic prototypical chuff, short and long whistles, bell, air pump, steam release, and blower—all in 16-bit polyphonic sound. Performs best on 18 radius curves or greater.

Introduced in its prototype form in the late 19th century, the 4-6-2 would take the world by storm at the turn of the 20th century, being seen as one of the biggest innovations in the history of locomotives -- the 4-6-2 would quickly find its place in rail-yards across the world. Heralded for its ability to haul passengers, the 4-6-2 was a versatile model, hauling freight and coal as well, with tank variants being introduced later during the 20th century. Traveling at speeds upwards of 100mph, the 4-6-2was featured on rail-ways ranging from Argentina to Egypt, and all the way to the far East in China! Now's your chance to add some history to your collection with this HO N&W E-2a 4-6-2 Steam Locomotive & Tender!
