Here is a Lionel 224E Vintage O Prewar 2-6-2 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive. It features a metal construction, 3-position E-unit, headlight and metal wheels. It was not manufactured with a smoke unit.
Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the "Prairie" model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!
