Lionel 2331 Vintage O Virginian FM Trainmaster Powered Diesel Locomotive VG

Here is a Lionel 2331 Vintage O Virginian FM Trainmaster Powered Diesel Locomotive from 1955-58. The 2331 Virginian FM Trainmaster is a realistic and scale-like replica of the real life Trainmaster. Lionel‘s version of this locomotive has a well-deserved reputation for being a top-of-the-line diesel with excellent durability and strength. The 2331 was the second FM Trainmaster introduced by Lionel in the postwar era -- the first being the 2321 Lackawanna from 1954. A common problem with Lionel‘s Trainmaster are the screwholes on each end of the shell. In most cases, hairline cracks are in the shell running from the bottom of the screwhole to the bottom of the shell. Locating a shell without these hairline cracks is rare. Features include dual motors, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, an operating horn, die-cast metal trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, and metal wheels.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There are light nicks, scratches, and spots of surface rust on the shell and chassis. Additionally, light spots of paint wear, chips, and rub marks are visible throughout the body and underframe. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
