The 1872 has smoke and headlight. The 1875W has a whistle. The tender has plastic trucks and couplers, while the passenger cars have plastic trucks and metal couplers.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The locomotive's whistle piece is broken and loose on the shell. The tender's whistle functions poorly and produces a very raspy sound. The locomotive and cars show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. The locomotive and cars show rust throughout various sections of the chassis and trucks. These track sections show scratches and spots of black flecks on the rails.
