Lionel 397 Vintage O Operating Coal Loader VG/Box

This is a Lionel 397 Vintage O Operating Coal Loader from 1948-57. When activated the motor turns the rubber drive belt which can load coal into a waiting car. In addition coal can be dumped into the loader from a car from a coal dump car such as the 3459 or 3469. The 397 is a classic Lionel accessory and can also be used in conjunction with the 456 Coal Ramp. It measures 10 inches long x 7 inches wide x 7 inches tall. Other features include metal and bake-lite construction.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There are scratches, tarnishing and rust spots on the base of this unit. The coal and wiring are not included. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The original box is included. The box has edge wear, creases and tears.
