Lionel 6-8476 1954 TCA 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive & Tender #5484 VG/Box

Here is a Lionel 5484 (8476) Train Collectors Association (TCA) 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender from 1985. This engine was made especially for the TCA Special, a set of matching passenger cars made especially for the national CA conventions of the 1980s. This engine features Die-Cast construction, smoke, and the mighty sound of steam (kind of a prehistoric RailSounds).The tender features die-cast metal trucks, an operating knuckle coupler, and metal wheels and axles. Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The wheels show average run-time. There are light nicks and scratches on the surface of the shell and chassis. The rear wheels on the locomotive are loose. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The original box is included. The instruction manual is included.
