Lionel 6468 Vintage Postwar B&O Double Door Automobile Boxcar EX/Box

This is a Lionel 6468 Baltimore and Ohio Double Door Automobile Car from 1953-55. The 6468 Double Door Automobile box car is a modified 6464-style box car. The main modification is the inclusion of a second door on each side -- thus having a total of four sliding doors on the box car. The 6468 Baltimore & Ohio was the first double door box car introduced by Lionel. Its blue exterior, prototypical lettering, and graphics make this car an accurate model of its real-life counterpart. This was the type of car used to transport new automobiles before the advent of specialized automobile transport cars in the 1960s. This boxcar features sliding doors, die-cast metal trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, and metal wheels and axles.
