It features a Pittman motor, operating Proto-Smoke system, die-cast chassis, boiler, and tender, cab interior detail with engineer figures, die-cast leading, trailing and tender trucks, remote controlled Proto-Coupler, operating marker lights, precision ball bearing equipped gear box, constant voltage headlight, and Proto-Sound. This locomotive does not include DCS (Digital Command System) features because it has ProtoSound 1.0. Only locomotives with ProtoSound 2.0 and ProtoSound 3.0 include DCS functions.
